Hello! My name is Olivia and welcome to my blog!
As the title of this entry suggests I am involved in this sport called 'color guard,' and no I am not talking about the one for the military. I am talking about the marching band kind! Running around, dancing, tossing wooden rifles and 6 feet long poles with a piece of silk tightly stuck on one side by electrical tape can actually be a lot of fun if you're crazy enough. Color guard is a sport dedicated to performing with all of the heart and soul, dancers are dedicated to showing a visual interpretation of whatever song they are performing to. Using more than just the body color guard members use various pieces of equipment(rifle, flag, air blades, and even sabres) to not only create a cool effect but to display their hard work through each and every toss.
I have only recently gotten into color guard, I was active within my junior and senior year of high school, and I am now enjoying the professional scene of it all, this leaves me with over 2 years of experience(4 seasons total). Despite investing myself into this sport a lot I am still pretty new to it all, many members within my new group have been in color guard for over 7 years!
